Arshak Andriasov, Composer/Pianist

New York-born composer, pianist, conductor, teacher, Arshak Andriasov has been surrounded by music all of his life. His penchant for music can be traced back to his family. His father, Iosif Andriasov, was a world-renowned composer, philosopher of Armenian heritage, born in Moscow, U.S.S.R.; his mother, Marta Andriasova (Kudryashova), is a musicologist, Dozent of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, owner of IMMA Publishing Co., of Russian heritage, born in Moscow, U.S.S.R. His music draws on a vast array of musical resources, ranging from Armenian folk music to Russian classical music, with certain elements of American jazz, while using means of contemporary language to create a complex system of juxtaposition.
